UNIMAG PANELS

UNIMAG is an ever-expanding world of fun!
The Panels are an exclusive UNIMAG feature, extending its infinite world of creative possibilities with previously inconceivable shapes and chromatic effects!

WHAT THEY ARE

The Panels are highly-coloured and brilliantly transparent geometrical shapes –triangles, squares, rhomboids and pentagons– which can be slotted between the bars and spheres to multiply the possibilities of play, enabling an even more creative and versatile use of UNIMAG.

THE EXCLUSIVE FEATURES

1. MORE SOLIDITY

The Panels can be used to strengthen the models constructed using the familiar techniques of the bars and spheres, making them more compact and solid. In Fig.2 you can see how a simple square made up of 4 bars and 4 spheres can easily become deformed. If you insert a square Panel the entire figure becomes more stable and compact. Increasing the stability of the figures using the Panels thus makes it possible to construct models which, in terms of dimensions, solidity and strength, were not previously possible. They can be used to increase the solidity and compactness of models built using the familiar techniques of the bars and spheres.

2. GREATER PLAY POTENTIAL

The Panels make it possible to optimise the use of the UNIMAG elements: the same figure can be obtained using a smaller number of spheres and bars.
For example, with UNIMAG a rigid dodecahedron (Fig.4) can be made using 90 bars, but if it is built with the pentagonal Panels (Fig.5) then you only need 30! Consequently the possibilities of play are increased because, with the
same number of bars and spheres, you can make either
more single shapes, or else figures of even greater size
and complexity the creativity is enhanced with models of the most diverse dimensions, never seen before.

3. GREATER VERSATILITY AND ORIGINALITY

All the Panels have a hole in the middle the size of the diameter of the bars (Fig.6).
This hole enables a more versatile use of the bars and spheres. For example, it is possible:
- to construct solid and compact models with a double net structure (Fig.7)
- to create static and dynamic models which are unusual in shape and suggestive in colour (Fig.8/11)
- to set the bars into the individual holes of the Panels locking them into position with bars underneath (Fig.9)
- to move the spheres on the Panels with the fascinating “dragging” effect enabled by the magnetic bar underneath (Fig.10)

The results which can be achieved with the Panels are truly amazing! Fantastic and extravagant creations: daring and unusual forms which challenge the laws of physics, models which are aesthetically attractive thanks to the colourful transparencies.
With the Panels manual dexterity and sense of proportion are challenged even further, enabling a multiplicity of forms which continually renew the game.

UNIMAG becomes still more fun and intelligent: with the Panels the shapes are increasingly used as highly suggestive and elegant elements of home decor.
